Take The Chair

Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

Welcome to Take The Chair (“the Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Who can use it

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. You're responsible for your account and for keeping your password secure.

2. What the Service is

Take The Chair is a civic platform where people propose solutions to public problems (“moves”), and where verified officials may respond on the record. We provide the platform; we don't endorse any user's opinions or proposals.

3. Your content

4. Acceptable use

Attack ideas, never people. You agree not to harass, threaten, defame, impersonate, spam, or post hateful or illegal content, and not to abuse, scrape, or disrupt the Service. See the Content Policy for specifics. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

5. AI features

The Service uses AI to classify posts, summarise proposed solutions, and flag whether public commitments appear to have been acted on. AI output can be wrong or incomplete and is provided for information only — it is not professional, legal, or factual advice, and our accountability flags are not a verified fact-check.

6. Officials and claimed issues

Accounts marked as “verified officials” represent that they are who they claim to be. Statements officials post are their own. Claiming an issue via an invite link is an assertion of identity; misrepresentation may lead to removal.

7. No warranty & limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for user-generated content.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the Content Policy.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. We'll update the date above and, for material changes, give reasonable notice. Continued use means you accept the changes.
